Professor Montgomery is an NHMRC Leadership Fellow, Group Leader at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience and Director of the Genome Innovation Hub at The University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, Fellow of the Society of Reproductive Biology, and Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand.
He has an outstanding track record in genetic epidemiology and reproductive biology. His early career in animal reproduction and genomics was spent in New Zealand and France before moving to Australia in 1999.
Over the last 20 years he has conducted studies on genetics and genomics of endometriosis and currently leads major international projects in endometriosis and systems genetics. He has published extensively in the fields of genetics and women’s health including influential papers in Nature Genetics, Nature, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
